Why are people surprised he had a friend who was a paedophile billionaire? Apart from the fact that there's a hell of a lot of paedophile billionaires about, one doesn't become an international trade envoy without being involved in shady international deals. International trade is all about shady deals, and is largely driven by billionaires and the criminal underworld. Not that those two are all that seperate, of course.
Also, on that front, Wootton Bassett is to be renamed "Royal" Wooton Bassett. A great honour, apparently.
